We had the honor of shooting our last wedding for Taylor and Ryan this September. You may have already seen their viral best man and maid of honor rap battle but we’re excited to share the other highlights from their beautiful day. Beautiful actually doesn’t do it justice; it was perfect in every way. The Bissell Tree House provides a stunning wedding venue nestled in the trees above Grand Rapids; it was gorgeous. Taylor and Ryan were so fun and relaxed throughout their day, making it an even more intimate and meaningful occasion to celebrate this new chapter in their life. We’re so excited for them

This has to be the most impressive best man and maid of honor speech that we’ve seen yet! Best man Kody and and maid of honor Kayla surprised the newlywed couple with traditional speeches turned rap battle. It was truly awesome and they hit it out of the park! You’ll have to watch to see.

In July, we were able to celebrate the wedding of Emily and Josh. They had a perfect West Michigan summer day with lots of sunshine and a warm breeze. The ceremony and reception were held at the church where Josh grew up and he and Emily attend together. Which, also happens to be our very own church. This made the day more special to be there with our church family celebrating the happy couple. Their day was filled with lots of laughter and love as you can clearly see in the highlight. These two like to make each other laugh and their joy was contagious throughout the entire day.

When our cousin Jolie asked if we would come and film her wedding in Mexico, we couldn’t say “yes” fast enough! Not only was it a great family gathering, it was Mexico…in December…at an all-inclusive resort…just perfect! As it turned out, we left Michigan for the tropics at just the right time…it was a very snowy and cold week back home. This was our first destination wedding (unless you consider Chicago a destination) and we must say, they’re pretty fricken awesome. You can sign us up for more of these. Combine the abundant natural beauty, relaxed atmosphere and a genuine love story and our job is pretty easy. And isn’t Jolie a stunning bride?! Just wow. Jordan didn’t look half bad either!

December found us in the Windy City to celebrate the marriage of Jillian and Colin. It was a full day celebrating the newlywed Henrys. We love any opportunity to travel and Chicago in December is so romantic. Their day was no exception. It was full of classic and dreamy details (Lacuna Artist Lofts…so cool!). These two are so happy together. You can witness their love in every word and look that they share. They also had one of the most fun bridal parties we’ve ever worked with; they were a hoot, just listen to some of the speeches! To top it all off, the evening ended with a late night snack from Chick-fil-A—BEST IDEA YOU GUYS!

In this season of Thanksgiving we are thankful for awesome couples like Leslie and Eric. From the moment we met through Skype, it felt more like we were discussing wedding plans with friends than a client we just met. That feeling didn’t change when we arrived in incredibly beautiful Northport, Michigan to start the big day. Whether it was the boys flying the drone (for what felt like forever) or Leslie wearing my sunglasses and discussing essential oils, they were so welcoming and made us feel like we’ve always been friends. Les and Eric share a special kind of love that is so big that it can be felt by every person they come in contact with. We are so lucky to have been part of their day. It could not have been more beautiful, genuine and FUN!

It was still a stunning and beautiful day. Rain or shine, Petoskey is a charming and wonderful town; the perfect place for Amanda and Jared’s August wedding. We’re confident in saying that there is no place like Northern Michigan in summer. You can’t beat it.
